Takeshi Maruyama
General Manager, Pacific Automotive Business

Takeshi Maruyama is General Manager of SABIC Innovative Plastics Pacific Automotive business. SABIC Innovative Plastics, a business unit of Saudi Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC), founded in September 2007 with the acquisition of GE Plastics, is headquartered in Pittsfield, Mass. In his current position, Maruyama is responsible for Automotive sales and marketing in Pacific. He also oversees Pacific based OEM platforms globally.
Maruyama began his career with General Electric in 2000.  Prior to his current assignment, he was General Manager for Japan Automotive Business since 2005. Before that, he was global account manager for GE Plastics, Pacific. In 2002, he received a commercial black belt for the sales team. He held the position of sales manager for the GE Automotive business in 2001. One year earlier, Maruyama joined GE Plastics, Japan as an account manager.
Before joining General Electric, Maruyama worked for Idemitsu Oil Company for nine years. While with Idemitsu, he was in the Petrochemical division in charge of Monomer Chemicals marketing for the Asia Pacific region.
Maruyama attended the Doshisha University in Kyoto, Japan and graduated with a bachelor’s of science degree in law in 1991.
